How we help

The things people bring to us

There's no problem too small to talk through. These are some of the most common reasons people reach out.

Life transitions

Retirement, a move to a new home or community, or a change in independence. We help you find your footing and make the new chapter feel like your own.

Worry & anxiety

Racing thoughts, restless nights, or a sense of dread that won't settle. Together we build practical ways to feel calmer and more in control.

Low mood & depression

When the days feel heavy and the things you used to enjoy have lost their spark, we help you reconnect with energy, purpose and hope.

Grief & loss

Losing a loved one, your health, your work or your independence. Grief takes many forms, and you don't have to carry it alone.

Living with chronic illness

Cancer, heart conditions and ongoing pain affect more than the body. We support the emotional side of living well with a long-term condition.

Recovery after surgery

Healing can bring frustration, fear and lost routines. We help you stay steady and motivated through recovery.

Memory changes

Forgetfulness can come from illness, injury, stress, sleep or aging. We help individuals and families understand the changes and cope with them.

Frustration & anger

We help you notice what sets off tension and learn simple steps to ease it before it takes over everyday moments.

Past or recent trauma

Painful experiences, whether from long ago or more recent, can resurface at any age. We offer a safe, steady place to work through them.

Alcohol & substance concerns

Compassionate, judgment-free support for anyone whose use of alcohol, medications or other substances has become a worry.

Changes in behavior

Withdrawal, agitation, suspicion of others or hoarding can be hard on everyone. We work with the person, their family and caregivers.

And much more

Loneliness, sleep troubles, family strain, or simply feeling stuck. If it's weighing on you, it's worth talking about.

Ways we care

Support shaped around you

We fit care into your life, not the other way around.

In person

Visits where you live

Sessions in the privacy of your home, apartment or residence. No waiting rooms and no driving.

Phone or video

Telehealth sessions

The same quality counseling by regular telephone, smartphone or computer, set up around what's comfortable for you.

One-on-one & groups

Individual and group sessions

Private sessions, small groups with people facing similar changes, or both. Groups also build friendship and connection.

New residents

Settling-in support

Moving into a new community can bring feelings of loss and loneliness. Our transition program helps people adjust and feel at home.

Check-ins

Wellbeing assessments

A friendly first conversation to understand how someone is doing, followed by regular check-ins so we can spot concerns early.

Education

Talks and workshops

Presentations for residents, families and staff on topics like adjusting to change, recognizing low mood, and calming tense moments.

Our approach

Practical, goal-focused counseling

Our counselors primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT. It's a hands-on, practical way of working through problems by looking at the thoughts and habits behind how we feel, then trying new ways of responding.

You and your counselor work side by side to understand what's going on and agree on clear goals. Progress is something you can feel, often within weeks.

With your permission, we coordinate with your physicians, care staff and family so everyone is working toward the same thing: helping you feel more like yourself.

Getting started

What to expect

  1. Reach out

You, a family member, a physician or a community wellness director can make a referral.

  2. We check coverage

We verify Medicare or private insurance for you, so there are no surprises.

  3. A first conversation

A licensed counselor meets with you to listen, understand your needs and agree on goals.

  4. Ongoing support

Regular sessions, one-on-one or in a group, for as long as they're helpful.

For residential communities

A wellbeing partner for your residents and staff

We partner with independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing and rehabilitation communities. Our clinicians join each resident's care team, support families, and help make transitions smoother for residents and staff alike.

No cost to your community. Services are billed directly to Medicare or the resident's insurance.

What partnering brings

  • Shows families your community understands the emotional side of moving in
  • Helps new residents settle in, which supports move-ins and reduces move-outs
  • A calmer, happier environment for residents and staff
  • Group programs that encourage friendship and social connection
  • Staff training on topics like calming difficult situations and spotting early signs of low mood
  • Educational content for community newsletters and family events
  • Support for family members coping with a loved one's changes

For families

You're part of the circle of care

When someone you love is going through a hard change, small things from you make a big difference. With your loved one's permission, we'll keep you updated on how they're doing.

  • Invite them to talk about how they're feeling, and listen without rushing to fix it
  • Let them know their reactions are normal and understandable
  • Offer simple, everyday choices, like what to watch or which activity to try
  • Encourage hobbies and the activities their community offers
  • Stay in touch, even with short calls or visits
